50 storeys for upcoming tower on Burnaby-Coquitlam border

The pace of change along the Burnaby-Coquitlam border since the completion of the Evergreen Line is impressive, and now there’s another tall tower proposal to look forward to.

Ledingham McAllister has applied to the City of Coquitlam to build a 50-storey tower at Clarke Road and Smithe Avenue, steps from the Burquitlam SkyTrain station.

The development will contain 295 market residential units, 105 purpose-built rental units, and 15 non-market rental units.

The market condominium unit mix will be as follows:

  • 97 one-bedroom
  • 168 two-bedroom
  • 30 three-bedroom

Market condominium residents will have access to a “Sky Lounge” on level 50, with kitchen, seating, table games and washroom facilities.

There will be seven at-grade commercial units fronting Clarke Road with a total combined area of 16,000 sq ft.

527 parking spaces will be provided on five-and-half levels of underground parking.

The site is next to a 38-storey tower proposal by Townline, and the developers are collaborating to ensure a flush and uniform podium between the two proposals.
